Students who graduate from Florida community colleges with an Associate in Arts degree are guaranteed the following rights under our Statewide Articulation Agreement:

  • Admission to one of the 11 state universities, except limited access programs Acceptance of at least 60 semester hours by the state universities.

  • Adherence to the university requirements and policies, based on the catalog in effect the time time the student first enters a community college, provided the student maintains continuous enrollment.

  • Transfer of equivalent courses under the Statewide Common Course Numbering System.

  • No additional General Education Core requirements.

  • Advance knowledge of selection criteria for limited access programs Equal opportunity with native university students to enter limited access programs.

In addition to the above, we have 9 articulated AS to BS degrees and are now working on standards which will allow select Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificate Program credits to transfer into Associate degree programs. Our statewide Articulation Coordinating Committee, comprised of members from all sectors, --K-12, Tech Centers, Community Colleges and both private and public colleges and universities is integral to facilitating the groundwork which makes this possible.

State Directors, Executive Committee, Biographies, Membership

The National Council of State Directors of Community Colleges is an affiliated council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).  The council provides a forum for the exchange of information about developments, trends, and problems in state systems of community colleges.

Through our affiliation with AACC, we also strive to affect national legislation that impacts our colleges and state agencies.

This is the only Council that represents the collective interest of state agencies and state boards of community colleges.  This council is a valuable forum to help state directors deal with the changes in attitude and policies towards community colleges at the international, federal, state and local levels.  We will share information and learn lessons from each other to better serve the interests of our institutions in the coming years.
